DKL

Type
Bayonet
Flange focal distance
44.7 mm

Measured from Friedrich Deckel.

A leaf-shutter bayonet from Friedrich Deckel, on German 35 mm cameras from 1956 until production ceased in the early 1970s. It has no brand segment because Deckel sold shutters and mounts rather than cameras: Voigtländer, Kodak, Braun, Balda and others built the bodies, and Schneider-Kreuznach and Rodenstock built much of the glass. **This record is a family, and the source says so.** `Friedrich Deckel` states that DKL cameras "include seven distinct variants" and that makers varied the lug profiles and the aperture ring deliberately, "to physically prevent the attachment of lenses from other DKL-mount systems" — Retina lenses do not fit a Voigtländer without filing the lugs. So the 44.7 mm here is the flange every variant shares, and it is not a promise that a lens will mount. The corpus splits a mount when its flange distances differ, as the Mamiya RB67 and RZ67 do; no source states a per-variant geometry for these seven, so there is nothing to split on yet.

Also written DKL mount, Deckel mount and DKL-mount.
