Anchorframe Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-28

Anchorframe does not collect your data.

There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporter, and no server. The app has no way to send your photos or anything derived from them anywhere, and this is enforced by the operating system rather than by our intent: Anchorframe runs in Apple's App Sandbox and holds no network entitlement, so it cannot open a network connection at all.

What the app reads

You can use Anchorframe without granting photo library access. It ships with sample rolls you can work on immediately.

What stays on your Mac

Everything. Specifically:

Deleting the app removes all of it. Your scans and your photo library are untouched by that, because the app never held the only copy of anything.

The one thing that leaves your Mac

When you place a photo on the map, Anchorframe asks macOS for the name of that location — "Lone Pine, California" rather than a pair of coordinates. macOS sends that coordinate to Apple to look up, in the same way it does for other apps that show place names.

We want to be exact about this rather than claim more than we can:

Anchorframe never asks for your location. It has no location permission and no location manager; it only ever hands back a coordinate you yourself placed.

Tracking

None. Anchorframe does not track you across apps or websites, contains no advertising, and includes no third-party SDKs of any kind. Its privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking as false with no tracking domains, and no collected data types, because there are none.

Children

Anchorframe is a photo-archiving tool with no accounts, no messaging, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and no way to reach the internet. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If a future version of Anchorframe ever gains the ability to make a network request of its own, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described here rather than folded silently into a date.
